Magnesium to improve sleep quality

I thought I was doing all the right things.

I was going to bed early, sleeping in the dark, avoiding screens and blue light before bed… but every morning I woke up and felt like I had been awake all night. My eyes were closed and I had been “asleep” but I could tell not much repair was going on.

I kinda just accepted it. After all, I’m a mom. Aren’t all moms tired and sleeping with one eye (and ear) open? This was normal.

It wasn’t until my youngest was almost 3 that I decided I needed something. The kids were sleeping through the night (mostly) and I was still not totally recovering. What the heck was going on?

Ultimately, it was the growing research on the importance of sleep and the link between sleep and brain health, that had me ready to finally get my sleep sorted out.

I listened to the people at the front of science that I trust. And everyone was chanting the same thing; magnesium, magnesium, magnesium.

Hold up, if you’re already taking magnesium and haven’t felt a difference- keep reading! There are multiple kinds of magnesium and you might not be getting the right kind to support your sleep!

Here’s what I learned about this powerhouse mineral:

Roughly 2/3s of the population is deficient in magnesium.

There are multiple forms of Magnesium:

Magnesium Chelate: optimizes muscle building + recovery

Magnesium Citrate: supports metabolic health

Magnesium Bisglycinate: promotes relaxation and optimized sleep

Magnesium Malate: The most bioavailable form, found naturally in fruit.

Magnesium Sucrosomial: supports energy production, immune system and bone health

Magnesium Taurate: supports heart health

Magnesium Orotate: supports heart health + metabolic improvements

Magnesium is responsible for assisting with hundreds of reactions in the body including:

  • Transforming food into energy
  • Gene creation and repair
  • Muscle contraction and relaxation
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Protein formation
  • Healthy brain function

And if that isn’t enough to get your attention…

Magnesium may also be considered as prevention and treatment for:

  • Insomnia / poor quality sleep
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Weight management
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Symptoms of PCOS
  • Migraines
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Diabetes
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Asthma
  • PMS
  • Preeclampsia
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Symptoms of post menopause

magnesium supplement to improve sleep

Kinda mind-blowing, right?!

When I learned this, it made sense why so many doctors and experts were singing this mineral praise. But I still had one problem. Which supplement was right for me? I was craving sleep— I didn’t want to get the wrong kind of magnesium only to miss out on even more beauty sleep… I was desperate.

Then I found BIOptimizers, Magnesium Breakthrough. (Save with VICTORIA10 at checkout)

This supplement combines SEVEN forms of magnesium and is the most complete supplement currently available on the market. I read reviews + listened to podcasts and everyone- EVERY.ONE praised this supplement!

I looked into the company and I was happy to find that they even offered a 365 day money back guarantee! I decided to go for it.

I ordered 3 bottles to get a bigger discount, (budget, baby!) and decided if I hated it, I’d return them and move on. Plus I needed my husband (a firefighter, who is almost always sleep deprived) to test them out as well.

Night 1, I took one capsule to make sure it would sit well and felt perfectly fine. I slept but I didn’t feel like it changed my life.

The next night, I took the recommended 2 capsules and hopped in bed.

I usually tossed and turned, but now I could feel myself melting into my pillow and drifting gently into sleep.

I was used to waking up 3-5 times minimum and I had just slept solid for the first time in over a year.

I was hooked.

I talked to my husband and he had the same experience! That was over 3 months ago and we’re still getting excellent sleep. Even when the kids wake up (it’s not like a heavy sleeping pill where you’re totally out of it), I can help them and then fall back to sleep easily. It’s amazing!

I’m not being dramatic when I say that this supplement took my sleep from a 2 to a 10 overnight.

It really did! And I feel so much better during the day. I was so sleep deprived I didn’t really realize how bad it had gotten. Now when I wake up, I feel refreshed and ready.

If you are struggling with poor sleep quality or if you are a mom who has settled for mediocre sleep for the rest of time- you deserve this!

Ask your doctor, do your own research, listen to all the experts- but PLEASE don’t settle for garbage sleep.

You deserve to feel refreshed!

And you know when you find something awesome and want to tell everyone?! That’s how I feel about this! I joined BIOptimizers as an affiliate to get you an extra discount if you decide to go for it!

If you decide supplementing is the way to go, use my discount code VICTORIA10 to get 10% off. I always buy a bundle to double up on the savings and shipping.

I love it when passing the right information along helps someone feel better. Regardless of if you decide to take advantage of this supplement, I hope you are encouraged to pursue better sleep!
